When you step into The Overflow at 315 Sanborn Avenue in Ashland, you might first notice the great deals on quality overstock items, home goods, tools, furniture, and unique finds. But there’s a much deeper story here.
The Overflow was born out of Crossroads Outreach Center, a faith-based ministry that has been quietly transforming lives across Northern Wisconsin for over 14 years. What started as a 501(c)(3) in 2011 has grown into a multifaceted outreach that partners with churches, helps individuals find healing, and equips communities to be healthier and stronger.
Why open a store? Because sustainable ministry needs sustainable funding. Instead of relying solely on donations, The Overflow creates a self-supporting model where everyday shopping directly fuels kingdom work. Every dollar spent here stays local and supports real people in our Northwoods communities.
From its early days — running Grace Garage (repairing cars for low-income families), Faith Houses (providing transitional housing and life skills), and Faith InDeed (missions support) — Crossroads has always focused on practical help paired with lasting heart change. Today, that legacy continues through The Overflow.
Shopping here isn’t just about finding a bargain. It’s about standing with a ministry that believes God is still in the business of transforming real lives in real places.
